INSTITUTE     FOR    JUSTICE

http://www.ij.org/

Founded in 1991, the Institute forJustice (IJ) advances a rule of law under which individuals can control their destinies as free and responsible members of society. IJ litigates to secure economic liberty, school choice, private property rights, freedom of speech and other vital individual liberties and to restore constitutional limits on the power of government. IJ provides legal counsel to inner-city entrepreneurs, because their freedom to shape their own businesses directly affects their freedom to shape their own lives and communities. In addition, IJ trains law students, lawyers, policy activists and grassroots organizers in the tactics of public interest litigation and advocacy for liberty. Through these activities, IJ challenges the ideology of the welfare state and illustrates and extends the benefits of freedom to those whose full enjoyment of liberty is denied by government.

HUMAN    RIGHTS    WATCH

http://www.hrw.org/

Human Rights Watch is one of the world’s leading independent organizations dedicated to defending and protecting human rights. By focusing international attention where human rights are violated, we give voice to the oppressed and hold oppressors accountable for their crimes. Our rigorous, objective investigations and strategic, targeted advocacy build intense pressure for action and raise the cost of human rights abuse. For 30 years, Human Rights Watch has worked tenaciously to lay the legal and moral groundwork for deep-rooted change and has fought to bring greater justice and security to people around the world.

EARTHRIGHTS    INTERNATIONAL

http://www.earthrights.org/

EarthRights International (ERI) combines the power of law and the power of people in defense of earth rights. ERI has offices in the U.S. and Southeast Asia. We specialize in fact-finding, legal actions against perpetrators of earth rights abuses, training grassroots and community leaders, and advocacy campaigns. Through these strategies, ERI seeks to end earth rights abuses, to provide real solutions for real people, and to promote and protect human rights and the environment in the communities where we work. ERI is a group of activists, organizers, and lawyers with expertise in human rights, the environment, and corporate and government accountability.

WILDLIFE    CONSERVATION   NETWORK

http://www.wildnet.org/

Founded in 2002, Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) is dedicated to protecting endangered species and preserving their natural habitats. We support innovative strategies for people and wildlife to co-exist and thrive. We partner with independent, community-based conservationists around the world and provide them with the capital and tools they need to develop solutions for human-wildlife coexistence. WCN’s conservationists actively engage local people as effective stewards of their environment and work in a culturally-respectful manner to ensure that conservation skills and values will be passed on to future generations.

WILD    FOUNDATION

http://www.wild.org/

Founded in 1974, The WILD Foundation is the only international organization dedicated entirely and explicitly to wilderness protection around the world. WILD works to protect the planet’s last wild places and the wildlife and people who depend upon them, because wilderness areas provide essential social, spiritual, biological and economic benefits. We believe that intact wilderness areas are an essential core element of a healthy modern society. With programs like the World Wilderness Congresses and the Wilderness Task Force bringing people together from every part of the planet and every walk of life, we gather their stories and information, we celebrate their successes, we provide them with tools and resources, and most importantly, we help channel their energy, passion, and creativity into new and more effective conservation.
